Job description

Medix is hiring for a Phlebotomist for a full-time position in a busy clinic setting in the Cumming, GA area. Monday- Friday, day shift, no weekends or holidays!

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time phlebotomy experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collects specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection as required.
  • Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies. Disposes of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
  • Greet and assist patients professionally, ensuring a calm and courteous experience.
  • Accurately collect, label, process, and store specimens per protocols while ensuring patient comfort.
  • Enter patient, specimen, and billing information accurately; maintain records and logs.
  • Keep workspaces clean, report repairs, and assist with inventory.
