Billing Specialist

Job description

* Advocate for patients by obtaining necessary information for claims processing and balance resolution. * Analyze billing, collections, and payer trends, providing insights and solutions to management. * Handle insurance follow-ups to ensure timely payments, escalating issues as needed. * Draft correspondence, manage first-level appeals, and assist with special projects related to payer issues. * Maintain professionalism while communicating with patients, insurers, attorneys, and healthcare entities. * Conduct financial screenings, set up payment plans, and manage charity program eligibility. * Perform detailed account reviews, including claims billing, payment adjustments, and insurance verification. * Demonstrate proficiency in HCPCS, CPT, ICD-9/10 codes, medical terminology, and clinical documentation.

Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of Billing and Revenue Cycle processes
* Proficiency in Excel, and a proven track record of strong work habits
* Must have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in medical billing and collections within a medical office, clinical setting, or dedicated billing/collections department.

Nice to Have Skills
* Air Ambulance or Ambulatory experience, GE Centricity Experience (EMR)

Schedule
* Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm

Pay Rate
* $20 to $24 an hour
