Job description

Medix is currently hiring an Insurance Verification Coordinator with an Orthopedic and Sports Medicine clinic.

Job Title: Insurance Verification Coordinator - Ancillary Support

Job Summary: The Insurance Verification Coordinator in the Ancillary Support Department plays a vital role in ensuring accurate verification of benefits and authorizations for physical and occupational therapy, durable medical equipment, and other services. This back-office position supports clinical services by managing insurance inquiries and facilitating smooth patient coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct outbound calls to insurance companies to verify patient benefits and secure necessary authorizations.
  • Utilize online portals and internal communication channels to gather and confirm insurance information.
  • Handle a medium volume of inbound calls to address inquiries regarding insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Provide occasional front-office support to assist patients with understanding their benefits, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of verifications and authorizations in the system.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve any issues related to patient insurance and authorizations.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience doing prior auths and insurance verification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of both government and commercial payors

Schedule: Monday-Friday, between 8am-5pm
