Job description

Phlebotomist performs routine technical and clerical functions. The CLA performs venipuncture - capillary puncture, labels tubes and specimen containers, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. The lab assistant - phlebotomist completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

Responsibilities

  • Experience: 2+ years
  • Certification preferred, but not required
  • Daily Duties: They will be responsible for taking the labs and processing them. Patients will check-in at the lab (sometimes from provider, sometimes walk-ins), phleb will determine if their sample is going to the BMN Lab, Quest, or LabCorp and then follow the specific lab protocol, process the samples, and prepare them for the courier to take them.
