Job description

Position Overview: The Patient Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the smooth and efficient scheduling of patient appointments, ensuring accurate and timely communication regarding procedural requirements and preparation. This role requires a customer-focused approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed and accurate information related to department-specific scheduling criteria, ensuring patients are well-prepared for appointments, including arrival time and location.
  • Proactively engage with patients and customers, actively listening to their concerns, offering assistance, and providing alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Exhibit exceptional telephone etiquette, maintain a professional demeanor, and demonstrate strong communication skills in all interactions with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.
  • Uphold the organization's commitment to exemplary customer service and a Patient First Philosophy, ensuring each patient receives the highest level of care and attention.
  • Utilize and navigate registration, scheduling systems, and web-based resources effectively to manage patient appointments and maintain accurate records.
  • Possess proficiency with computer applications, multi-line telephone systems, printers, and other office equipment to facilitate smooth operational processes.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of medical procedures and requirements to accurately schedule appointments based on patients' needs.
  • Review patient schedules daily, ensuring all changes and updates are promptly communicated to relevant team members to ensure seamless patient flow and care.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment or similar role is preferred.

This role is critical in ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient experiences, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare team.

Hours : M-F 8-4:30 ONSITE

Pay: Up to 21 Hourly
