Job description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare medical records for scanning by removing staples, paper clips, and ensuring documents are properly organized.
  • Operate scanning equipment to accurately and efficiently digitize medical records.
  • Review scanned images for clarity, completeness, and correct indexing to ensure quality.
  • Safeguard patient information by adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Manage and organize digital files to ensure easy access and retrieval.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and address issues with scanning equipment as needed.
  • Support the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems and related projects.
  • Maintain detailed records of scanned documents and generate reports as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the smooth integration of digitized documents into patient records.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the HIM Supervisor/Manager.
