  • Welcome and assist patients and visitors, ensuring prompt and courteous communication, including answering phone calls.
  • Prepare patients for their appointments by organizing pre-visit information, escorting them to exam rooms, documenting chief complaints, and updating electronic medical records (EMR) as needed.
  • Provide patient support, including assistance with mobility, dressing, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and exam preparation. Serve as a chaperone during exams when requested.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and specialized therapies.
  • Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and other point-of-care diagnostic procedures.
  • Manage patient check-out processes, including scheduling follow-ups, handling referrals, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Properly prepare, label, and transport collected specimens while ensuring accurate lab documentation in Epic. Assist in troubleshooting missing lab records.
  • Enter physician orders into Epic accurately and efficiently.
  • Notify medical staff of emergencies and administer first aid as necessary.
  • Sterilize, process, and organize medical instruments daily to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Maintain and update medical charts, process medical record requests, and handle necessary copying and mailing tasks.
  • Conduct EKGs and spirometry tests as required.
  • Accurately input charges into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Assist in obtaining prior authorizations for medications as needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment, perform quality control testing, and keep supporting documentation up to date.
  • Complete required daily and monthly logs, including refrigerator/freezer temperature checks, AED logs, and other quality assurance documentation.
  • Perform additional duties specific to the department and other responsibilities as assigned.
