Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will support physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by assisting with patient care, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring smooth operations of the clinical office. The ideal candidate will be reliable, proactive, and able to work well alongisde a team.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates.
  • Obtain and verify necessary patient records, ensuring consent forms are signed prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms, maintaining necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Collect blood specimens from peripheral sites, adhering to OSHA and universal precautions.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections (e.g., hormones, biological growth factors) as prescribed.
  • Maintain infection control by adhering to room disinfection protocols.
  • Process medical instruments and equipment for reuse and sterilization as needed.
  • Answer patient phone calls, providing information or referring to physicians or nursing staff as necessary.
  • Assist with prescription refills by phoning in medications and making patient follow-up calls as directed by physicians and nursing staff.
  • Schedule patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions. Follow up on receipt of test results and schedule subsequent appointments.
  • Obtain new patient records, including previous test results, X-rays, scans, and other necessary documentation.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
  • Minimum two years expericne as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Current CRP certification required.

Schedule/ Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
