Job description

Are you currently in the job market for a full time role? Medix is hiring a Medical Assistant to work for a well known healthcare organization in McLean, VA. See below for more information on the role!

Job Overview:

  • Specialty: Orthopedics and Cardiology
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00
  • Pay: 20/hr - 21/hr

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Diploma
  • Must be open to obtaining CMA or RMA within 1 year of employment
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and nurses in both orthopedic and cardiology procedures and examinations.
  • Prepare patients for appointments by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete.
  • Provide patient education on procedures, medications, and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Perform basic medical procedures under the supervision of a physician, such as wound care, suture removal, and EKGs.
  • Maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Manage patient scheduling, including coordinating appointments and referrals between orthopedic and cardiology departments.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including medical record management, insurance verification, and billing as needed.
