Position: Mammographer

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay: Varies based on experience but typically ranges $35-39/h- please contact for more information

Hours: All shifts are Monday-Friday first shiftno weekend requirements

Job Summary: As a Mammographer, you will be responsible for performing mammography examinations and providing accurate diagnostic images of the breast. Your expertise will assist in the early detection of breast cancer and contribute to effective treatment planning. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting mammography examinations using specialized imaging equipment and techniques.
  • Positioning patients and ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Obtaining and reviewing patient medical histories and relevant information.
  • Educating patients about the procedure, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and analyze images.
  • Assessing image quality and making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal results.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting procedures performed.
  • Adhering to radiation safety guidelines and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Participating in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Staying current with advancements in mammography technology and techniques through continuing education.

Requirements:

  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
  • Valid state license to practice as a Mammographer.
  • In-depth knowledge of mammography procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of breast anatomy, pathology, and common breast conditions.
  • Proficient in positioning and patient care techniques during mammographic procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality mammography images.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
