Director of Nursing - Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center
Are you an experienced Director of Nursing looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? Join our modern, well-equipped, 3-room Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center, where you'll lead a dedicated team and work alongside top-tier surgeons performing over 400 procedures per month, including cataract, oculoplastic, vitrectomy, glaucoma, and cornea surgeries.
This is a hands-on leadership role, where you'll rotate among Pre-Op, OR, and PACU stations, setting the standard for excellence in patient care. As a working leader, you'll inspire and coach your team to perform safely, efficiently, and with compassion-helping restore sight to patients in need!
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead and Develop a Skilled Team - Oversee and evaluate 5-8 RNs and 10-15 non-RN staff to ensure top-tier patient care.
✔ Maintain Quality & Compliance - Conduct daily quality checks, QI studies, and ensure survey readiness at all times.
✔ Optimize Patient Flow & Efficiency - Work closely with the OR Manager to maintain 7-9 minute room turnovers and eliminate overstaffing while ensuring proper patient care.
✔ Enhance ASC Performance - Monitor operations, drive performance improvement initiatives, and encourage local Ophthalmologists to bring their cases to the center.
✔ Manage Staffing & Operations - Create efficient schedules, oversee supply ordering and facility maintenance, and ensure proper admissions, nursing, and patient care procedures.
✔ Achieve Financial & Performance Goals - Track case counts and staffing hours, monitor expenditures, and resolve operational challenges quickly.
What We're Looking For:
✅ Proven Leadership - Experience as a Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing with a track record of success.
✅ Surgical & Compliance Expertise - Strong understanding of surgical procedures, legal regulations, and patient care standards.
✅ Team Builder - Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
✅ Problem-Solver - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and stress-management skills.
✅ Ophthalmology Experience - A huge plus, but not required!
Position Details & Benefits:
💰 Salary: $115,000 - $150,000 (including performance-based bonuses)
📅 Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts between 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM
📍 Work Location: On-site at our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center
