Certified Medical Assistant
Location: Mount Laurel, NJ
Job Type: Full-time

About the Position:

We are a well-established practice seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing direct support to physicians and clinical staff while ensuring smooth administrative operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:



Clinical Duties:

  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.

  • Prepare patients for visits by documenting medical history, chief complaints, vitals (weight, blood pressure, pulse), and other relevant data.

  • Administer injections as directed by the physician.

  • Maintain and clean medical equipment, exam rooms, and ensure proper stocking of medical supplies.

  • Order injectables, vaccines, and maintain medication inventory.



Administrative Duties:

  • Check in patients using the EPIC system, verifying demographics and insurance details.

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments.

  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary precertifications.

  • Process new patient charts and maintain electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Handle patient inquiries and relay messages to physicians.

  • Complete and process referrals, both electronic and paper-based.

  • Batch patient visit activity and prepare deposits.

  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail and perform light typing as needed.



Office Operations:

  • Maintain compliance with medical waste regulations.

  • Keep office and reception areas clean and professional.

  • Open and close office as scheduled.

  • Communicate effectively with staff and various departments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.

  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
