Job description

We are seeking experienced Remote Coding Auditors to join our team. These positions focus on supporting auditing efforts and provider education in specialized medical fields. If you're a seasoned coding professional with a passion for accuracy, compliance, and education, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive coding audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Educate providers on documentation practices and coding requirements.
  • Review and analyze patient records to validate the accuracy of codes submitted for reimbursement.
  • Provide feedback and training to improve provider coding practices.
  • Collaborate with leadership to address audit findings and implement corrective action plans.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of coding experience in specified medical specialties.
    • Minimum of 5 years of auditing and provider education experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Epic (no additional training required beyond standard Mercy access).
    • Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications such as CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA are required.
  • Other Skills:
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

  • 1 Cardiovascular/Vascular IVR Auditor
  • 1 Orthopedic and Spine Surgery Auditor
  • 4 Med/Surg Auditors (GI, General Surgery (Plastics, Bariatrics, Nephrology, Endocrinology), Urology, Neurosciences/Neurosurgery, ENT/OMF, Non-Vascular IVR, Pulmonary, Pain Management, Wound Care, Surgical Oncology)

Ambulatory:

  • 1 Primary Care Auditor
  • 1 Hospital Services Auditor (Hospitalist/Critical Care)
  • 1 Pediatrics Auditor
  • 1 Hematology/Oncology Auditor
