About Us:
Join our dedicated healthcare team committed to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking an organized and compassionate Triage Nurse who excels in a fast-paced environment and values close collaboration with medical providers.

Job Summary:
The Triage Nurse will primarily manage patient communication and data entry while maintaining strong relationships with providers and patients. This role involves sitting for extended periods and requires proficiency in computer use and patient-focused service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Communication:
    • Check voicemail messages and document them accurately in the EHR system, forwarding necessary information to providers.
  • Prescription Management:
    • Handle prescription refills, knowing when to process them independently and when to consult with a provider.
    • Understand and adapt to varying provider preferences for refills.
    • Process prior authorizations for medications as needed.
  • Medical Records Management:
    • Send medical records to referring doctors and labor and delivery (L&D) departments.
  • Appointment Coordination:
    • Schedule appointments with maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Collaboration and Meetings:
    • Work closely with all providers to foster effective communication and teamwork.
    • Attend Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) meetings, take notes, and follow up with patients or referring doctors accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with EHR systems.
  • Typing and listening skills to efficiently document and process patient messages.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with providers and other staff members.
  • Experience in handling prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage medical records and coordinate appointments.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; if not, vaccination will be administered on the first day.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a medical office or clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and patient triage procedures.
