Job description

Are you currently in the job market for a full time position? Medix is hiring a Remote Medical Billing Specialist to work for a major healthcare organization in Baltimore County, MD. This position is a temporary role, but may have the opportunity to convert to a permanent employee upon completion of assignment.


Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of billing/AR follow up experience
  • Must live in EST time zone
  • Must have hospital based experience
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and must be comfortable with a strict metric environment
  • EOB Reading experience and appeals
  • Experience with high dollar accounts
  • 60 - 80 Account Productivity

Job Overview:

  • Interprets, evaluates, and resolves complex administrative and patient account issues. Assists with identifying and escalating payer issues in a timely manner. Processes and completes the daily workload of claims assigned, reporting backlogs as identified. Identifies registration errors and flags accounts using the error tracking process. Works in a team environment.
  • Requires some knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/IDC-10 coding. Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Pay: 20 - 24.00 an hour
