Schedule/ Shift:

  • 2 Shifts available depending on your preference:

    • Either Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or

    • Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Fridays: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Employee Health, this position primarily addresses the health, medical surveillance, episodic illness, and work-related injuries of employees within the healthcare system. The role requires collaboration with the Physician Assistant, Office Assistant, Supervising Physician, departmental managers, clinical departments, staff physicians, and Human Resource personnel.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Conduct initial patient interviews and assessments
  • Take vital signs and prepare patients for physical exams, workers' compensation evaluations
  • Provide minor episodic care and treatment
  • Offer patient education and counseling
  • Perform suture removal, wound checks, and redressing
  • Conduct cultures and diagnostic tests
  • Administer injections and vaccinations
  • Collect urine drug tests with chain of custody
  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Interpret PPD testing
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and other duties as directed by Physician Assistant
  • Conduct mask fit testing for employees

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

  • Current RN license in the state of Connecticut
  • BSN preferred
  • 3-5 years of recent experience in occupational health, clinical setting, or emergency medicine preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care
