Remote Hospital Biller

Job description

Medix is seeking a Hospital Biller to join our Billing and Revenue Cycle team. This role involves processing patient accounts, submitting insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, and following up on denied claims. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes.

Duties

  • Review and process patient accounts for accurate billing.
  • Submit insurance claims and follow up on denials.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies with insurance providers.
  • Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of hospital billing experience
  • Proficiency in UB-04 claim forms and electronic billing processes
  • Strong understanding of inpatient vs. outpatient billing structures
  • Experience with split payor and interim billing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for billing analysis and reporting
  • Experience with FinThrive as a clearinghouse platform is preferred
  • Skilled in handling claim rejections, denials, and interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
  • Ability to manage reimbursements across multiple payors, including utilizing reimbursement calculators

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM AZ Time (flexible start times as early as 7:00 AM)
  • Training period: 3 months with the Training Coordinator

Pay

  • $17 to $26 an hour
