Job Posting: Ophthalmic Tech (Optometric Techs and MA's are welcome to apply as well!)

Location: Monroeville / Bethel Park, PA

Employment Type: Full Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Ophthalmic Tech to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and ensure efficient workflow in a dynamic ophthalmology practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient evaluations by documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past surgeries, current medications, and relevant ocular findings in compliance with medical guidelines.
  • Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, pupillary dilation, and other diagnostic services as requested by the physician.
  • Prepare for procedures such as intravitreal injections by pulling medication, documenting lot numbers, expiration dates, and relevant data in the EHR system.
  • Clean surgical instruments to prepare for sterile processing and maintain clinical exam equipment as directed.
  • Conduct inventory and order clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Open and close exam and injection rooms to maintain cleanliness and readiness.
  • Assist with photography, if trained and authorized.
  • Support the team with additional tasks to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a neat and professional appearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in typing and experience with electronic health records (e.g., EPIC, NextGen, or similar platforms).
  • Previous medical office clinical experience required; prior ophthalmology experience is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: $19-24 depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours/week - Mon-Fri

Location: Monroeville or Bethel Park, PA

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
