Job description
Medix is hiring for a Medical Biller in the Libery, MO (64068) area for a clinic!
Overview
- Making calls to insurance companies to do follow ups on denials (This is primary responsibility, will mainly be working denials)
- Charge entry
- Following up with the Doctor during charge review if notes made by the Doctor are unclear
- They work with a large number of Medicare patients given they are a podiatry office
- They will be in the same room as the two Senior Billers, they are available to help and shadow during training
- Not held to any specific metric of how many charges to enter per day but they will be measured by observation
- Dress code is either black scrubs or business casual
3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications
M-F 8:00a-5:00p
- 1 year experience medical billing
- Comfortable with charge entry, follow ups, denials, aging reports
- Comfortable on the phone with insurance companies doing follow up, as well as comfortable on the phone with patients
- Someone who is able to hold their own, ask for payments and stand their ground with insurance companies when following up
- Podiatry experience (familiar with the codes)
- Multiple years of experience medical Biller (any system)
- Soft Skill/Attribute Requirements
- Patience since there are times where they will be stuck on the phone with insurance companies
M-F 8:00a-5:00p
Pay rate: $20-$24/hr
