Job description

Medix is hiring a Medical Assistant / Ophthalmic Technician to join a highly energetic, dynamic, and rapidly developing team. Work alongside others who share a dedication toward helping preserve and improve the vision of individuals within our community!

Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Update patient medical history in electronic medical records.
  • Perform vision checks, including visual acuity and intraocular pressure measurements.
  • Prepare patients for physician exams, including dilation and diagnostic imaging.
  • Conduct patient testing and ensure accurate results.
  • Maintain a compassionate, patient-focused attitude while handling a high-volume environment (80 patients/day).

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma required; collegiate-level education preferred.
  • Strong computer proficiency and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a dynamic team.

Schedule/Shift

  • Full-time: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Frequent travel required to eight satellite offices, some up to 1.5 hours away. (Travel is facilitated by a company-provided 16-passenger sprinter van.)
  • Two Fridays per month are non-travel days with half-day schedules.
