Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description:

As an MA in this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, outpatient oncology setting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing patient check-ins, taking vital signs, assisting with medication reviews, managing medical records, and following up on lab results. You will also be involved in administrative tasks, including managing new consult packages. This position is highly outpatient-focused, offering you the chance to work closely with patients in an essential care environment.
Responsibilities/ Job Duties:
Room patients and prepare them for exams
Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, height)
Perform health assessments and medication reviews
Manage medical records and maintain new consult packages
Follow up on lab results and alert providers of any concerns
Handle a mix of clinical and administrative duties (75% clinical, 25% administrative)
Work closely with the oncology team to deliver exceptional patient care
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
Assist with insurance verifications and pre-authorizations as needed
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred)
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or similar) preferred
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
Experience using EMR systems (MediTech, eCW)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Compassionate and patient-focused
Schedule/ Shift:
Monday to Friday - 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
