Job description

Position: Coding Audit/Education Liaison

Location: 100% Remote - Must Be Located in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Indiana, Virginia, Nebraska, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Contract to Hire

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift between 7am - 6pm Central Time

Day to Day:

- Regularly conducts coding audits and coordinates ongoing monitoring of coding accuracy, providing continuous feedback to the coding staff.

- Acts as a resource for coding staff regarding organization-wide coding and documentation standards and guidelines.

- Stays current with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.

- Performs trend analyses to identify patterns and variations in coding practices.

- Follows coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures affecting the coding process.

- Adheres to the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and follows official coding guidelines.

- Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.

- Promotes individual professional growth and development by fulfilling mandatory and continuing education and skills competency requirements; supports department-based goals contributing to the organization's success; serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

- Demonstrates a commitment to caring for every community member by creating compassionate and personalized experiences; models service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in surgical auditing and education for one or more of the following surgical specialties: Bariatrics, Gastroenterology, Urology, and/or OBGYN in addition to auditing E&M leveling.
  • Hospitalist, Palliative Care, Pediatrics, Family Medicine or Behavioral Health experience a plus!
  • Epic Experience
  • Valid CCS, CPC, RHIT or RHIA
  • Personal Laptop & Monitor to Use
