ABOUT OUR CLIENT + ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is a healthcare analytics organization. They are building a cloud-native data platform to propel decision making for their healthcare end customers. Through a single-source-of-truth approach for Healthcare Claims Data, they are able to deliver insights on the efficiency and quality of health care delivery - across Medicare, Medicaid, HEDIS quality measurements and other healthcare avenues.

This role is a Test-Driven Cloud Data Engineer who has experience with Python, Databricks, Snowflake and MLOps. The data is related to Healthcare Claims and EDI / XML Transactions. A minimum 7-10 years experience is required for this role, with a depth (5+ years) in Healthcare Claims Data.

This individual will be joining a small team, as a Senior Individual Contributor, and will be responsible for creating Cloud Data Pipelines using Apache Airflow, incorporating automated testing, TDD and CI/CD Best-practices from end to end.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working as a member of a small team (<5 people), reporting to a Manager of Data Science
  • Serving as a Senior Data Engineer, working in a Test-Driven, CI/CD and MLOps environment
  • Working with prior experience in a similar Cloud data ecosystem - with SQL and Python, Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Airflow for pipeline orchestration
  • Helping to grow a team, and mentor junior engineers / analysts
  • Building robust cloud data pipelines for Healthcare Claims data using Apache Airflow, DAGs, Databricks, Python, SQL
  • Working with an in-depth knowledge of Healthcare Claims data (TriZetto, FACETS, EDI transactions, XML Files, Medicare / Medicate Advantage data, HEDIS data)
  • Engineering robust and embedded continuous testing / branching strategies for the cloud data pipelines serving the Data Lake and Snowflake
  • Working in a Test-Driven Development / Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing methodology
  • Contributing to Machine Learning projects to help validate claims data accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, consistent experience in Healthcare Claims data, EDI Transactions, XML files
  • Experience working in TDD, CI/CD environments
  • Expertise with Python and SQL
  • Experience with Databricks, Jupyter Notebooks
  • Cloud Data experience - Databricks, Snowflake, Datalakes
  • End to End ETL Test Automation using Apache, Airflow, DAGs
  • TeamCity or Jenkins for CI Automation
  • Machine Learning / MLOps preferred
