Job description

We are seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to oversee clinical operations in our Phase 1 Clinical Research Organization. This role involves managing healthy research participants in studies related to smoking cessation, weight loss, and diabetes.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring studies follow protocols and SOPs.

  • Lead and manage clinical staff on the study floor, delegating tasks and resolving conflicts.

  • Monitor participant safety and document adverse events, escalating as needed.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Research Coordinators, Floor Supervisors, and staff to ensure smooth study operations.

  • Maintain a calm, professional atmosphere and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Requirements:

  • No research experience required.

  • Ideally, 5 years of nursing experience.

  • Active RN license (no bachelor's degree required).

  • Experience as a Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Nurse Lead.

  • Skilled in clinical tasks such as IVs, injections, vital signs, and CPR - able to take workload off doctors.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $90,000-$110,000 (depending on experience)

  • Premium Pay: Higher pay for evening/night shifts

  • Performance Bonus Offered

  • Total Compensation: Up to $125,000 annually (DOS)

Benefits:

  • PTO: 15 days + 10 paid holidays (35 days off per year)

  • Rotating Weekends: Typically every other weekend or once every three weekends

Shifts:

  • Day Shift: 6 am - 6 pm (3x12 hour shifts)

  • Evening Shift: 3 pm - 11 pm

  • Night Shift: 11 pm - 7 am

  • Strong leadership skills and a commitment to clinical excellence.

  • Comfortable working with healthy participants in a controlled research setting.
