Charge Capture Specialist
Location: On-Site in Hollywood, CA.
Pay: $21 - $44/hour dependent on experience
Shift Options: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM OR 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Contract to Hire Opportunity!

Are you a detail-oriented revenue cycle professional with a knack for charge capture? Do you thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting and enjoy collaborating with clinical and billing teams to ensure accurate claims processing? If so, we want to hear from you!

What You'll Do:

  • Review and analyze healthcare claims data to ensure accurate charge capture.

  • Conduct audits and reconcile charges to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Work closely with clinical and billing teams to troubleshoot charge issues.

  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends related to charge capture and reimbursement.

  • Provide training and education to staff on best practices.

  • Generate reports to monitor performance and identify optimization opportunities.

  • Assist with revenue cycle projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in charge capture, ideally in a hospital setting.
  • Experience with OB, ER, L&D, and clinic charge capture.
  • Strong analytical skills-able to investigate and resolve claim rejections.
  • A team player who can train others and requires minimal training themselves.
  • Paragon system experience is a plus!

Your Daily Workflow:

  • Work from accessible logs, including charge issue logs and appeals logs.
  • Investigate claim rejections and resolve charge discrepancies.
  • Analyze CRC Edit Reports every morning to catch errors before submission.
  • Perform repetitive but critical charge capture tasks using all available resources.
  • Conduct research and analysis for special reports.
  • Eventually assist with surgery approvals (but not immediately).

Nice-to-Have Skills & Certifications:

  • CPC or RHIT certification (not required but a big plus).
  • Coding expertise and knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Strong ownership mindset-someone who takes responsibility without constant oversight.
