Job description

  1. Assign diagnostic and procedural codes for obstetric and gynecologic services, including antepartum, delivery, postpartum, and gynecological procedures.
  2. Review medical records, operative reports, and documentation to accurately abstract information for coding purposes.
  3. Utilize Epic electronic health record (EHR) system and 3M coding software to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  4. Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements, including CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and commercial insurance policies.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers, including obstetricians, gynecologists, nurses, and other staff members, to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
  6. Conduct regular coding audits to monitor accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding standards.
