Job description

Responsibilities

  • Field inbound phone calls and provide customer service to patients.
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and document medical history in the Athena EMR system.
  • Conduct blood draws, perform injections, and assist with processing lab specimens.
  • Screen clients and support persons for symptoms of infectious diseases.
  • Assist midwives with procedures as needed.
  • Own sanitation protocols, sterilizing equipment, and prepping clinic rooms prior to appointments.
  • Manage supply chain protocols and inventory, including receiving, reconciling, storing inventory, performing end-of-period counts, reordering supplies, and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Manage the cold chain process for temperature-sensitive supplies.
  • Scan medical records into the EMR system.
  • Process prior authorizations and referrals.
  • Perform weekly and monthly equipment maintenance checks.
  • Complete various leave paperwork on behalf of patients for CNM completion.
  • Staff the front desk, including checking in clients, scheduling appointments, answering phones, etc.
  • Help with general clinic upkeep, including restocking and light cleaning.
  • Navigate multiple platforms used in the clinic throughout the workday.
  • Take on additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Clinic Director and Practice Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • CMA and phlebotomy certified.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • 2+ years of experience using an EMR technology platform (Athena preferred).

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience in childbearing health.
  • Experience using Athena EMR system.
