Job description

Medix is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to provide individual and group therapy to HIV-positive individuals with co-occurring disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience in case management, crisis intervention, and delivering evidence-based clinical psychological interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to clients, supporting them in achieving their goals and addressing their needs.
  • Conduct in-home assessments to determine client needs and develop specific goals and objectives tailored to each individual.
  • Manage client cases effectively, ensuring access to appropriate mental health and social services.
  • Prioritize client and staff safety by delivering crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
  • Offer community consultation, education, and training related to mental health and substance abuse issues.
  • Implement and monitor client-centered treatment plans under appropriate supervision, if unlicensed.
  • Provide 25 hours of direct clinical services per week, maintaining high-quality care standards.
  • Participate in grant-required continued education, conferences, and training sessions.

Requirements / Experience:

  • Registered AMFT, ACSW, or APCC.
  • 1-2 years in the mental health field, preferably working with the elderly population.
  • Strong background in case management and coordinating client services.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations effectively and ensure client stability.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities and best practices in mental health treatment.

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 8:45-5:30 pm

Starting pay:

$37/hr+ BOE
