REMOTE HEDIS Chart Abstractor - Must Reside in AZ or TX

Job description

Job Overview

The HEDIS Chart Abstractor will work closely with clinic staff to identify gaps in care, capture HEDIS documentation, track patient engagement in care gaps, and notify clinics of time-sensitive care gaps.

Location: Remote (Must reside in Arizona or Texas)


Contract Length: Until February 1, 2025, with an ASAP start date (October 2024)


Responsibilities

  • Review and abstract clinical data from electronic medical records (EMR) and paper charts according to HEDIS guidelines.
  • Submit HEDIS documentation to payer portals.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of abstracted data.
  • Enter abstracted data into the HEDIS software application.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, office staff, and internal teams to obtain necessary medical records and information.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting HEDIS reports.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay updated on HEDIS measure changes and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with the HEDIS team and management regarding progress and any issues encountered during data collection and abstraction.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Required Experience

  • One of the following certifications or degrees:
    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • Certified Pharmacy Technician
    • Certified Nursing Assistant
    • NCQA Certification
    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Public Health
  • 2+ years of experience in a value-based care setting (primary care or Medicare Advantage Plans preferred).
  • Basic understanding of billing and claims coding.
  • Must reside in either Texas or Arizona.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of the CMS STARS program
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience navigating payer portals
