Job description

Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated medical assistant to support the operations of our family and internal medicine department, which consists of eight providers specializing in both internal and family medicine. This department caters to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric individuals. Medical assistants will typically work in a one-on-one capacity with a provider, but flexibility is essential, as candidates may be required to assist multiple providers based on staffing needs. Occasionally, you may also need to float to other specialty departments within the facility.

During peak seasons, our clinic experiences a high volume of patients seeking immunizations, so the ability to confidently administer vaccines is crucial for this role. Please note that blood draws are not part of this position, as our medical center has a dedicated laboratory for that purpose. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment, with the expectation of rooming 20+ patients in a single shift.

General Responsibilities:

  • Rooming Patients, taking vitals signs and managing the flow of patients
  • Conducting medication reviews and assessment with patients and communicating any anomalies to the responsible provider.
  • Providing Immunizations (influenza most commonly)
  • Assistance in managing the in-basket of the provider team and following up regarding patient inquiries
  • Sanitizing rooms after patients have been roomed, restocking and providing our clinical support to operations
  • Providing general clinical support as directed

Common Conditions Treated:

  • Allergies and asthma
  • Colds and flu
  • Chronic condition management, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure
  • Immunizations for adults and adolescents
  • Mental health assessments
  • Physical exams
  • Pregnancy testing
  • Preventive care and well child exams
  • Women's health care

Requirements:

  • Certified Medical Assistant through Washington State Department of Health

Additional Skills:

  • Family Medicine experience
  • EPIC EMR experience

Schedule/Shift:

M-F 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Four 10's, schedule will stay consistent)

Contract Length:

700 hours (approximately 4 months). Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$22 - $28 / hour + 401(K) + sick + medical, dental, vision insurance
