About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate Medical Assistant who wants more than just rushing through 5-minute appointments? Join a rapidly expanding healthcare organization revolutionizing primary care for seniors (Medicare Advantage population) through an innovative Value-Based Care model.
Instead of high-volume churn, our clinics allocate extended 45-minute visits, allowing providers and care teams to build meaningful relationships, address root causes, and focus on preventative wellness. Located in accessible, welcoming neighborhood centers rather than impersonal hospital plazas, our clinics provide a warm, community-centered environment where your clinical skills make a direct, visible difference every single day.
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Working closely alongside primary care physicians and a collaborative clinical team, you will serve as a vital link in delivering comprehensive geriatric care:
-
Patient Intake & Care Coordination: Greet and room senior members, conduct thorough interviews, record accurate vital signs, update medical histories, and complete pre-visit planning.
-
Clinical Procedures & Lab Work: Perform routine phlebotomy (venipuncture/blood draws), administer injections, perform EKGs, conduct diabetic retinopathy eye screenings (training provided), and assist with minor in-office procedures (wound dressings, suture removals).
-
Preventative Screenings & Quality Measures: Administer wellness and depression screenings (e.g., PHQ-9) and actively assist in identifying and closing care gaps (FOCS).
-
Communication & Inbox Management: Manage patient inquiries, coordinate prescription refills and stat referrals, relay critical physician instructions, and provide compassionate health coaching follow-ups.
-
Team Collaboration: Bring positive energy and adaptability to a lean, fast-moving clinic—stepping in to support teammates and ensuring exceptional member experiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
-
Education / Credential: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Diploma required) or active MA Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA).

-
Patient-Centered Mindset: A genuine passion for working with the geriatric/elderly patient population, paired with strong empathy, active listening, and communication skills.
-
Reliability: High punctuality and attendance standards (daily morning huddles start promptly at 8:00 AM).
-
Certifications: Current BLS / CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Prior experience in a Value-Based Care or Medicare Advantage clinic setting.
