Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to lead and manage medical department objectives and personnel. This critical role involves providing comprehensive clinical occupational medicine practice, conducting thorough medical examinations, and actively supporting corporate medical initiatives. The Nurse Practitioner will also be responsible for integrating with various business partners to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Medical Department Objectives and Personnel, including implementing policies, providing coverage for staff absences, and conducting department audits.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State occupational medical requirements and laws, including MIOSHA and HIPAA.
- Maintain all appropriate licensure, certifications, and training, including PA and DEA licensure.
- Participate in Safety Observation Tours, Job checks, and Job walkthroughs to ensure workplace safety.
- Concisely document all patient medical assessments and treatments in the Electronic Health Record.
- Manage First Responders and oversee the site Emergency Response Program.
- Provide Clinical Occupational Medicine Practice, including the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct medical surveillance and medical qualification examinations.
- Participate in the management of disability and Workers' Compensation cases, including fitness for duty, return to work exams, and employee placement.
- Lead or participate in preventative occupational health activities such as Ergonomics, Bloodborne pathogens, and Travel medicine.
- Support Corporate Medical Initiatives through training, special projects, and policy and procedure review and creation.
- Partner with the Business to provide crucial occupational health and medical support, guidance, and information to manufacturing staff, HR, Union representatives, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics staff.
- Promote Employee Health and Wellbeing through health education, coaching, and EAP services and support.
- Attend relevant plant meetings including Safety Review Board Meetings, Disability Improvement Process Meetings, and Hazardous Materials Control Committee Meetings.
Qualifications
- Holds a Master’s degree in an appropriate field (for PA) or a Master of Science degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (for NP).
- Possesses PA certification (for PA) or Board certification (for NP).
- Maintains a valid medical license in the State(s) of practice.
- Experience in Occupational Health, Urgent Care, or Emergency Room (ER) settings is preferred.

- Effective communication and collaboration with diverse business partners and individuals.

Education
- Master’s degree in an appropriate field (for Physician Assistant) OR Master of Science degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (for Nurse Practitioner).
- PA certification OR Board certification is required.
- Valid medical license in the State(s) of practice.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work full-time, primarily 1st shift (e.g., 6am-2:30pm), with flexibility to cover multiple shifts as preferred.
