Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Insurance Adjuster (Workers' Compensation) for a key technical role managing a high-volume caseload of complex indemnity claims. The ideal candidate will operate as an independent desk manager, conducting claim investigations, handling subrogation, evaluating carrier reportability, and leading strategic defense discussions on litigated files. This position requires deep technical expertise in Arizona Workers' Compensation regulations and statutory disability/impairment definitions, utilizing proprietary systems with integrated AI tools for streamlined administration and maintaining precise execution of operational KPIs. Designed for an experienced professional capable of running a desk immediately without foundational training, the position offers internal advancement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 120–140 open indemnity files and 5–10 accounts (balancing small-volume and large accounts).
- Conduct investigations, handle subrogation, determine carrier reportability, and drive defense conversations on litigated files.
- Run an active desk independently with minimal oversight; inherit backlog files via account reallocation.
- Validate and verify AI-generated claim and medical summaries within proprietary systems to streamline administration.
- Meet core operational KPIs including first contacts, reserving, bill payments, correspondence attachments, client timeliness, plans of action, return-to-work rates, and file closures.
- Collaborate with case managers to manage claims, medical plans, and pricing across key accounts (e.g., restaurants, schools).
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of Arizona Industrial Commission form updates (such as Forms 104 and 108) and strict submission timelines.
- Working knowledge of statutory definitions including Temporary Total Disability (TTD), Permanent Total Disability (PTD), and New Medical Impairment.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of senior/experienced indemnity desk management experience.
Skills
- Prior experience utilizing proprietary management systems and AI-assisted summary tools.
Education
- Active Arizona Insurance Adjuster license.
Additional Requirements
- Core working hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM Arizona Time (regardless of candidate's local time zone).
- Preference for candidates not coming directly from standard insurance carriers due to the immediate need for advanced indemnity skills without foundational training.
