Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Clinic Medical Assistant to provide comprehensive patient care and administrative support in a dynamic clinic environment, focusing on quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the clinic, including rooming patients, taking vitals, administering injections, performing EKGs, and assisting with labs.
- Execute a variety of administrative tasks such as processing prior authorizations, managing in-basket messages from MyChart, facilitating medication refills, preparing charts, and handling phone calls.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments.
- Prioritize quality of care over productivity in daily tasks.
Qualifications
- DOH Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or MA-C).
- BLS/CPR certification (must be from American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
- Up-to-date vaccination attestation/documentation for COVID and Hep B.
- Background in Primary Care. Experience in OB/GYN or urgent care is also highly transferable.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant; seeking candidates with demonstrated tenure and robust experience.
Skills
- Experience with EPIC/MyChart or other Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (preferred).
- Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics (preferred).
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus, though not required as the clinic has in-house services.
Education
- DOH Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or MA-C).
- BLS/CPR (must be from American Heart Association, Red Cross, and Military Training Network).
Additional Requirements
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break from 12–1 PM.
- Opportunity to work occasional extended hours (7 AM–7 PM) may be available at certain clinic locations.
- Initial on-boarding includes system logins, compliance training, and orientation, followed by 2–3 weeks of shadowing and training with MA trainers.
