Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Licensed Insurance Agent to provide consultative health plan selection and support for individuals and families, guiding them through complex coverage details and managing client cases from assessment to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Consultative Health Plan Selection: Conduct 30-minute virtual consultation calls with individuals and families to assess needs, evaluate budget constraints, compare plan options, and provide clear recommendations.
- Open Enrollment Support: Guide clients through complex coverage details including deductibles, networks, out-of-pocket costs, formularies, and tax/employer-sponsored health allowances (e.g., individual health reimbursement arrangements).
- Multi-Channel Customer Service: Manage inbound/outbound calls, handle customer emails, submit health insurance applications, and manage high-volume ticketing systems during open time.
- Follow-up & Case Management: Maintain strict ownership of client cases, document detailed notes, execute follow-ups, and track tickets through resolution across messaging and email platforms.
- Complex Inquiry Resolution: Research carrier plan documents, resolve network/drug formulary discrepancies, and address challenging client cost/budget concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Active Health Insurance License in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
- Ability to switch fluidly between video calls, CRM tools, email, and internal messaging applications.
Experience
- 6+ months of experience in consumer health insurance plan navigation (explaining deductibles, network types, out-of-pocket maximums, and prescription formularies).
- Prior experience navigating at least one full Open Enrollment (OE) season (preferred).
Skills
- Technical Setup: Personal laptop capable of running required software, continuous high-speed internet, functional webcam, and a dedicated noise-canceling headset.
- Multi-Tasking & Platform Fluency.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (capable of conducting full consultation/enrollment calls in Spanish) (preferred).
- Specialized Coverage Knowledge: Prior experience with Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA) or ACA Marketplace plans (preferred).
- Software Familiarity: Practical experience using helpdesk ticketing platforms (e.g., Intercom/Zendesk), team chat tools (Slack), and video conferencing software (Google Meet/Zoom) (preferred).
Education
- Active Health Insurance License in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction is required.
Additional Requirements
- Primary Shift: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), Monday through Friday.
- Weekend coverage required (either Saturday or Sunday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM ET).
- Secondary Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET may be required.
- Required language: Spanish.
