Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Behavioral Health Care Manager to serve as a primary point of contact for members, assisting them with healthcare access, coverage maintenance, and care coordination, with a strong focus on promoting participation in behavioral health services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for members requiring assistance with healthcare access, coverage maintenance, and care coordination.
- Conduct proactive outreach to encourage participation in behavioral health services and ongoing treatment plans.
- Provide education regarding available incentive and rewards programs, including eligibility criteria and enrollment guidance.
- Assist members with Medicaid renewal and recertification processes to prevent interruptions in coverage. This includes communication with members, family supports, primary care providers, and behavioral health clinicians as appropriate.
- Support members in navigating external public systems and platforms, including city and state benefit agencies and health insurance marketplaces.
- Coordinate renewal timelines and documentation requirements in collaboration with internal customer support or operations teams.
- Monitor and track member insurance status to proactively address potential lapses in coverage.
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation of all member interactions in accordance with regulatory guidelines and organizational standards.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment to ensure comprehensive, member-centered care support.
Qualifications
- Experience working directly with individuals in healthcare, managed care, social services, or community-based settings.
- Background supporting populations with behavioral health needs strongly preferred, including individuals living with serious mental health conditions or substance use challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to engage individuals with diverse psychosocial needs and varying levels of health literacy.
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and motivate individuals who may struggle with care engagement or follow-through.
- Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, renewal processes, and public benefits systems preferred.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including the ability to track productivity, manage data, and maintain reporting logs.
- Preferred: EPIC or e paces.
Additional Requirements
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (35 hours per week).
Length of Assignment: Approximately 6 months, with potential for extension.
