Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Clinic Assistant to manage patient interactions, schedule appointments, handle patient registration, and provide comprehensive administrative support. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and complete check-in procedures accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
- Collect co-payments, deposits, and other applicable fees at the point of service.
- Clearly explain benefit changes to patients and direct them to the appropriate resources when additional assistance is required.
- Communicate clinic wait times professionally and diplomatically while directing patients to designated care areas.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently in accordance with Advanced Access principles.
- Coordinate provider schedules, including schedule templates, vacations, rounding, schedule holds, and urgent or emergency changes.
- Maintain consistent communication and coordination with the Appointment Center to ensure accurate scheduling and continuity of service.
- Complete, review, and maintain accurate patient registration information, ensuring all required data is obtained and documented.
- Verify insurance eligibility and coverage.
- Ensure patient demographic and insurance information are current and accurately reflected in the appropriate systems.
- Coordinate specialty appointments and ensure all required patient information and documentation are available and appropriately communicated.
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally, respond to inquiries, and relay messages to the appropriate staff members.
- Prepare medical records and supporting documentation for new patients and specialty visits.
- Perform routine administrative duties, including faxing, copying, scanning, and document distribution, as needed.
Qualifications
- EPIC experience.
- Previous clinic experience is preferred.
Skills
- Excellent customer service and patient communication skills.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling and coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for patient registration and insurance verification.
- Ability to perform various administrative duties efficiently, including faxing, copying, scanning, and document distribution.
Education
Additional Requirements
This is a full-time position with hours typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and potentially 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
