Patient Account Representative
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Representative to manage various aspects of healthcare claims, ensuring accuracy, timely submission, and resolution of denials. This role involves crucial interactions with payers and maintaining meticulous records within the EHR system.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify client insurance eligibility.
- Scrub claims data for accuracy.
- Responsible for researching, reconciling, and resubmitting denied claims and posting payments for client services to client accounts in the organization's EHR.
- Correspond regularly with all payers regarding claims.
- Assist in the daily operations of the claims department.
- Consistently meet established performance expectations, including quality, productivity, and adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as required, with approximately 95% of billing involving Access Medicaid.
Qualifications
- Experience with EHR and computerized billing functions required.
- Full-cycle billing capabilities preferred.
- Behavioral health Medicaid billing experience (commercial billing is also acceptable) is preferred.
Experience
- One or two years of experience in a healthcare claims setting, preferably in a behavioral health organization.
Skills
- Proficiency with EHR systems, specifically Credible, is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail for claims data accuracy and reconciliation.
- Effective communication skills for corresponding with payers.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in Medical Billing & Coding or CPC certification, or enrollment in a certification program with successful completion of an externship program, may be substituted for experience.
Additional Requirements
- Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM.
