Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Registered Nurse to join their interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, patient education, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, all while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting.
- Effectively utilize the nursing process to assess and care for patients.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner.
- Provide disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers.
- Comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations.
- Participates in on-call rotation as assigned for AIC nurses.
- Travel to outlying clinics as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services.
- Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act while adhering to company policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
- accessing and maintaining central lines and PIVS
- obtaining lab specimens
- collecting vital signs
- Safely administer intravenous and injectable medications as ordered by prescribing physicians
- documenting patient care
- responding to and accurately reporting adverse drug reactions
- assisting with administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in GA.
- BLS or obtain upon hire - American Red Cross or American Heart Association (both need to have the in person skills check off).
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
- Infusion reaction/adverse reaction management.
- Patient assessment and nursing process.
- Vital signs and clinical monitoring.
- Lab/specimen collection.
- Patient & caregiver education, particularly disease- and drug-specific education.
- HIPAA and ACHC compliance knowledge.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented/interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Patient-centered/compassionate care.
Experience
- 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical specialty involving infusion therapy.
- IV/PIV and central-line experience.
- IV medication and injectable medication administration.
- Experience with biologics, specialty medications, IVIG, or other specialty infusions.
- Ambulatory/outpatient infusion experience.
Skills
- Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong documentation/EHR skills.
Education
- Active Registered Nurse license in GA.
- BLS or obtain upon hire - American Red Cross or American Heart Association (both need to have the in person skills check off).
Additional Requirements
- Participates in on-call rotation as assigned for AIC nurses.
- Travel to outlying clinics as needed for coverage (e.g., to Cumming, GA, and Lawrenceville).
- Required travel to nearby larger clinics for training and orientation.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM, Saturdays as needed (typically once a month and usually a partial day).
