Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Billing and Coding Specialist to join their team. The primary responsibilities include working on Cardiology, Diagnostics, Echo, Fetal, TTE, Procedure, and Surgery coding queues, reviewing and auditing physician documentation, and working through physician coding backlogs using EPIC. The role also involves selecting levels of codes through E/M and educating physicians when additional documentation is needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on Cardiology, Diagnostics, Echo, Fetal, TTE, Procedure, and Surgery coding queues
- Review and audit physician documentation
- Address physician coding backlogs using EPIC
- Select levels of codes through E/M
- Educate physicians and communicate as necessary when additional documentation is needed
Qualifications
- CPC, CCS-P, or CPMA required
- 3 years of PB Coding experience
- E/M Coding experience
- Previous EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to query physicians
- Pediatric Coding Experience (Preferred)
Experience
- 3 years of experience in PB Coding
- Specific experience with E/M Coding and EPIC EMR
Skills
- CPC, CCS-P, or CPMA certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and query physicians when needed
