Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our client's team. The primary responsibilities of this role include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, maintaining patient health records, preparing treatment rooms, administering medications, and performing administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients and measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
- Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
- Administer medications including injections, and conduct laboratory tests, operate EKGs, and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks such as assisting at the front desk, scheduling appointments, making follow-up calls, and ordering medical supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health approved organization OR Certificate/Diploma and Transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on externship completed and passed.
- Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for healthcare providers is required.
- CMA certification required from the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Experience
- Previous primary care experience is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical procedures and terminology.
- Ability to perform clerical tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
- Shift hours from Monday to Thursday, varying between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
- Work on Fridays from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
