Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end, multi-state payroll operations. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise executing full-cycle payroll directly within Workday, partnering with external vendors for post-processing tax, garnishment, and payment disbursements.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Payroll Execution: Process full-cycle, multi-state gross-to-net payroll directly within Workday for salaried and hourly employees across multiple jurisdictions.
• Third-Party Vendor Integration: Partner with third-party vendors, such as ADP SmartCompliance or OneSource Virtual (OSV), to sync and transmit tax, garnishment, and direct deposit payment data following each payroll run.
• Post-Payroll Reconciliation: Conduct thorough post-payroll reconciliations using ADP/vendor reporting tools to verify accurate tax withholdings, wage garnishment remittances, and funding allocations.
• Compliance & Multi-State Operations: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, ensuring accurate reporting and multi-state compliance.
• System & Data Integrity: Manage payroll inputs, off-cycle payments, retro-pay calculations, and audits within Workday to ensure seamless interface data flow to external vendors.

Qualifications

• Workday Expertise: Hands-on experience executing end-to-end payroll inside Workday is strictly required.
• Multi-State Experience: Proven track record running multi-state payroll operations and navigating complex state/local tax setups.
• Vendor Management: Direct experience partnering with third-party tax, garnishment, and disbursement providers (ADP highly preferred; OneSource Virtual / OSV acceptable).
• Reconciliation Skills: Strong background in post-payroll auditing, general ledger/funding reconciliation, and error resolution using third-party vendor platforms.
• Preferred: Experience working with ADP or other third-party solutions.

Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Workday and familiarity with ADP SmartCompliance or OneSource Virtual.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and vendor management abilities.

Additional Requirements

Remote work opportunity with standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday.
