Job Summary
The Community Center Associate will be based at a Medicare Community Center, and will provide customer service to members and seniors in the community. This associate will represent our client's health plan in the community and will develop and maintain the company’s reputation. The position will be customer-facing with sales responsibilities, driven by the mission to deliver culturally-sensitive health care solutions to seniors.
Locations: Rowland Heights or Monterey Park
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service for the Community Center(s).
- Provide in-language support for members regarding their benefits and accessing care.
- Act as a Medicare Advisor with in-language support for community members with questions about their Medicare options.
- Schedule and coordinate health and wellness events held at the community centers, including logistics and planning efforts.
- Communicate and coordinate general building repairs with the Facilities Manager/Department.
- Maintain a proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and promotional/marketing items.
- Track and monitor traffic flow and utilization of services.
- Perform routine inspections to ensure equipment is working properly for quality assurance purposes.
- Manage the use of space to host classes, activities, and trainings while ensuring safety and cleanliness.
- Identify and develop programs and activities that bring value and interest to the center by working closely with internal teams.
- Participate in member events and community events showcasing the health plan's benefits, including sales booths at events, sponsorships of festivals, holidays, religious or ethnic services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Active California Life and Health Insurance License is required or must obtain within 2 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Experience working with an ethnically diverse population.
- Experience working in health care, non-profit organizations, or senior community preferred.
- Event planning or coordination experience is a plus.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience serving the senior population.
- Ability to present to small and large groups.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Reliable, present, and dedicated.
Schedule / Shift
8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (one hour lunch), may need to be available to work on some Saturdays (which could mean earning overtime pay).
