Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Coding Quality Analyst to lead professional coding quality, education, audit, and compliance initiatives. The primary responsibilities include developing provider coding education programs, providing coding guidance, and monitoring coding quality and productivity. The role involves partnering with various departments to drive improvement opportunities and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead professional coding quality, education, audit, and compliance initiatives.
• Develop and implement provider coding education programs.
• Provide coding guidance to physicians, providers, and operational leaders.
• Monitor coding quality, productivity, reimbursement, denial, and audit data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with physician leadership, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Finance, CDI, Clinical Departments, and IT.
• Manage outsourced coding vendors and monitor vendor performance.
• Support audit readiness and regulatory compliance activities.
• Promote accurate documentation and coding specificity.
• Lead process improvement, change management, and technology implementation initiatives.
• Support the implementation and optimization of encoder software, CAC, AI-assisted coding, and workflow automation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPC or equivalent professional coding certification required.
• Five or more years of progressive professional coding leadership experience within an integrated health system, academic medical center, or large physician enterprise.
• Demonstrated experience leading coding quality, compliance, education, and audit initiatives.
• Experience partnering with physician leadership, clinical departments, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Finance, and IT.
• Experience managing outsourced coding vendors and vendor performance.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II, HCCs, and value-based reimbursement methodologies.
• Strong understanding of physician documentation requirements and documentation integrity principles.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, change management, and process improvement skills.
