Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a dynamic team, primarily responsible for patient check-in, financial collections, digital paperwork support, patient communications, and back-office support. This position aims to ensure efficient clinic operations and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Check-In & Intake: Greet approximately 40 patients on full clinic days, collect photo IDs, gather updated insurance cards, and obtain all necessary consent forms.
- Financial & Copay Collections: Review account balances with patients, explain basic insurance coverage details, and collect payments at check-in/check-out.
- Digital Paperwork Support: Guide patients through new patient paperwork on clinic iPads and provide technical troubleshooting.
- Patient Communications & Call Handling: Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and escalate complex concerns appropriately.
- Back-Office Coverage & Clinical Support: Cross-cover back-office duties, including escorting patients to rooms, taking basic vitals, and assisting during exams/procedures.
- Colorectal & Specimen Handling: Support exams and procedures, including handling specimens and maintaining sanitary exam rooms.
Qualifications
- Front and back office MA experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic insurance knowledge and prior authorization understanding.
- Comfortability with colorectal setting and handling specimens.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Athena and gastro/oncology.
- Spanish speaking.
Additional Requirements
Contract-to-Hire opportunity (520 hours) with potential for permanent placement. Predictable Monday–Friday day schedule with no weekend hours.
