Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team. This role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, and documenting urologic symptoms. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers during in-office procedures and provide patient education on various topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Room patients, take vital signs, and document urologic symptoms.
- Obtain and record detailed medical histories in the EMR.
- Prepare patients for exams and maintain privacy during visits.
- Assist in procedures like catheterization and cystoscopy.
- Set up and maintain sterile fields; handle instruments properly.
- Collect, label, and process specimens; perform urinalysis.
- Provide patient education on medications and post-procedure care.
- Document procedures and patient interactions in the EMR.
- Clean and disinfect exam rooms; follow infection control protocols.
- Stock and organize exam rooms and supplies.
- Coordinate with labs, imaging centers, and pharmacies.
- Respond to patient questions and ensure comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification.
- Experience with urine specimen collection and urinalysis preferred.
- Urology experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
