Position Title: Telemetry Supervisor
Salary Range: $67,982.00 – $91,010.00 / year
Schedule: Full-Time (36–40 hours/week, 12-Hour Shifts)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Lead Cardiac Telemetry Technician or Minnesota-Licensed RN to provide continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring, vital-sign trend analysis, and shift-level team leadership in a fast-paced monitoring environment. In addition to direct telemetry oversight and clinical escalation, this role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), training, mentoring, and guiding monitoring staff to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, data integrity, and documentation quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring & Clinical Escalation
- Continuous Surveillance: Perform real-time, high-vigilance monitoring and interpretation of patient cardiac rhythms, vital-sign trends, and parameters, including events not detected by automated algorithms.
- Clinical Assessment & Documentation: Measure PR intervals, QRS complexes, and QT intervals; obtain, label, and document rhythm strips within strict operational timeframes.
- Rapid Escalation: Identify and promptly communicate abnormal, significant, or critical changes (e.g., atrial arrhythmias, conduction blocks, QT prolongation) to direct-care nurses and providers.
- Reporting: Prepare, verify, and distribute detailed patient trend reports following established quality and monitoring protocols.
- Shift Leadership, Mentorship & Training
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a clinical resource and SME to telemetry and monitoring personnel, supporting shift-level workflow continuity and quality delivery.
- Staff Onboarding & Coaching: Train, mentor, and competency-check new and existing technicians in rhythm recognition, EMR documentation, trend analysis, customer requirements, and escalation protocols.
- Operational Oversight: Provide real-time feedback, assist with shift oversight, and escalate staffing, performance, or quality concerns to leadership as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Licensure / Certification Options:Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota OR Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) / Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification (candidates must obtain required certification within 60 days of employment).
- Experience: 10+ years of direct experience in cardiac telemetry/monitoring with a strong foundation in medical terminology, healthcare data practices, and cardiac A&P.
- Leadership Background: Previous experience serving as a Lead Technician, Senior Technician, Preceptor/Trainer, or shift-level resource is required.
