Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Personal Care Attendant committed to providing superior services to participants by assisting them with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL). The role requires carrying out responsibilities, such as participant advocacy, maintaining cleanliness and order of facilities, and ensuring the safety and confidentiality of participants' information. Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Provide ADL and IADL to support participants, including assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Complete safe transfers using Durable Medical Equipment (DME) as required.
- Clean the bathroom after use by a participant and handle associated duties.
- Communicate appointment reminders to participants.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of the center or home, sanitizing showers/bathrooms and relevant DME.
- Document participant services in the electronic health record accurately and timely.
- Advocate for participants by reporting any violations of their rights and responsibilities.
- Respond to and document participant complaints or requests in a timely manner.
- Report any changes in participant’s condition to supervisor or designee promptly.
- Maintain professional composure and responsiveness to all customer groups.
- Ensure a safe environment for participants and self, reporting and/or reversing hazards.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement program as needed.
- Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and policies.
- Maintain participant confidentiality per HIPAA requirements.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience working with frail and low-income elderly individuals is preferred.
- Professional demeanor and exceptional patience with participants.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with participants.
- Strong written skills for daily activity charting.
Schedule / Shift
M-F 8am-5pm
