Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Front Desk Medical Assistant responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, and supporting physicians and clinical staff with administrative duties and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones and schedule appointments.
- Verify insurance and collect co-pays.
- Support physicians and clinical staff with administrative needs.
- Room patients and obtain vitals (temperature, blood pressure, etc.).
- Handle basic paperwork and scan documents.
Qualifications
- Required 1-year prior experience (3 years preferred) in a medical office answering phones, scheduling appointments, and interacting with/greeting patients.
- Friendly, professional, and dependable.
- Strong people and communication skills.
- Strong phone skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) is a plus.
Skills
- EHR/EMR Software Proficiency: Experience with systems like Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks.
- Insurance Verification & Copay Collection: Expertise in patient insurance verification and copay collection.
- HIPAA Compliance & Confidentiality: Adherence to patient privacy regulations.
- Patient Intake & Flow Management: Efficient check-ins and managing office flow.
- De-escalation & Patient Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills for handling patient interactions.
Schedule
Two week rotating schedule:
- Week 1: Monday through Thursday 1pm - 6:30pm, Friday 10am - 6:30pm.
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10am - 6pm, Thursday and Friday 1pm - 6:30pm.
The practice is actively growing, there is room for expansion on weekly hours as operational needs change in the future.
