Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to perform accurate blood drawing, specimen collection, and laboratory testing with a focus on quality assurance and compliance with medical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate accurate blood drawing skills and timely collection of specimens.
• Perform waved and moderate complexity testing, including microscopic analysis of urine sediment and other tests.
• Collect, process, and store patient specimens properly.
• Perform, evaluate, and document quality assurance and control tests.
• Ensure proper documentation and notification of alerts following established procedures.
• Act as a resource for medical staff regarding specimen collection and laboratory processing.
• Participate in the training of medical staff and the quality improvement process.
• Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant rules, regulations, and standards.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous material.
• Manage laboratory supplies and maintain cleanliness and order.
• Process billing rejections from contract laboratory.
• Participate actively in internal quality improvement teams.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) or Phlebotomist Technician Cert.
• Excellent interpersonal and inter-professional skills.
• 6 months or more of experience in the field.
• Experience in FQHC setting preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 6 months experience in phlebotomy or related field.

Skills

• Technical proficiency in laboratory testing and specimen collection.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
